Day 10: Music in the City of Art

This past evening we attended the Opera house in Florence. We got to witness Gioachino Rossini's piece L'Italiana in Algeri. While it was completely in Italian with Italian Subtitles the last few days in class we had watched a tape of the Opera, read a synopsis and heard some about it before attending. So while we had no idea what they were saying, we did know what was going on. It also gave us a chance to get dressed up and go out on the town and do things that current residents would do for a classy evening out. I also walked up the hill some from the Villa before that and snapped a few pictures, but nothing that just turned out wonderful...
