Day 45 Home again, Home again
We had to get up bight an early to catch our 7.50 am train to Florence in order to catch the 11.47 train to Assisi. So we got back to Florence and we were just going to check our bags in but it was very expensive in Florence. So Kathryn called Robbie and he said the villa was open so we took the bags and stuff back to the villa and then me and Kendra headed back to Assisi. We got there right before 2 pm and took the scenic walk up a side street towards the town set up on a hill. It was a long but beautiful walk that really let us enjoy the city from afar. when we finally got to the city we went straight towards the large st. Francis basilica after some nice Italians told Kendra she dropped her coat in the street... (though we had no idea what they were saying....) so we got up to the church and got to explore his tomb and both the lower and upper basilica which much of it had been restored from images we had grown use to seeing in art history class. But it was a very interesting place to visit and I highly recommend it for that, the views, and the feel of the streets we walked along and I recommend walking up to the town if you can and have the time to actually attempt such a long climb. but we didnt really get to see much more than that after stopping in a gift shop and also grabbing a sandwich. then we came back to the Villa. We were like the 10th person or so back and we sat around for a while and watched as people began to pour into the villa after a wonderful week and a half!
